Regular baths are recommended, but the frequency can vary depending on your parakeets individual needs. A general rule of thumb is 2-3 times a week.

What's the best method for bathing my parakeet?

Some parakeets enjoy mist baths, while others prefer shallow water. It's important to observe your parakeets preferences and adjust the bathing method accordingly.

Here we go!

Giving a bath to your parakeet is a straightforward process requiring minimal supplies. Gather a bowl or sink with clean water and a towel. Ensure the bathing area is warm, as parakeets are sensitive to cold temperatures.

First you start by getting a clear dish and filling it with lukewarm water.

Then set them by the dish. Move your fingers around in the water to show the bird it's their!

If they don't like that way of bathing try these other way's!

Taking a shower with you (don't put them right under the water)

Bathing in lettuce (same concept as bathing in the clear dish)

In the sink (remember to use lukewarm water and low water flow)

Misting with a spray bottle (lukewarm water and at least 2 feet away

Ensuring regular baths for your parakeet is crucial for their well-being. Frequent bathing, several times a week, helps maintain their skin moisture and eliminates debris or pollutants from their feathers.

It is always recommended that parakeets be housed in cool or lukewarm water baths or showers.

A bird is completely capable of drying itself, and a small amount of shivering is normal and healthy for it. When a bird shakes its feathers, it is able to shake water from its feathers.
